3 EASY STEPS TO WRITING A REVIEW
Step 1
Answer these simple questions which will help you write the review:
-
How many stars would you give the book? ( ★––★★★★★)
Tip: Five stars doesn’t have to mean the book was perfect, just that you really enjoyed it.
-
Did you like the book? Why/why not?
-
What did you like the most about it?
-
What did you like the least?
Consider answering these questions if you want to add more to your review:
-
How did you feel about the characters? Were they believable? Likable? Relatable?
-
Did it leave you wanting more? Did it leave you satisfied?
-
Do you recommend it? If so, what would you want to say about your recommendation?
Step 2
Use your answers to the questions above as the basis for your review (4-10 short sentences).
Just share your opinions. Write it as if you’re writing to a friend who likes similar books to you.
Tip: Don’t write a book report or summary. Bloggers do this as they tend to copy and paste their full blog posts but Amazon and Goodreads include a book description already.
Step 3
Write a title for your review in less than 10 words.
What would you say to a friend in a few words if they asked you about the book? That’s your title.
And that’s it. You’ve just helped a new author. Thank you!
